What is Center for Spiritual Living Tulsa?
We Are a New Thought Spiritual Community
Tulsa Center for Spiritual Living is a “New Thought” spiritual community, and an affiliated member of Centers for Spiritual Living, a global organization with hundreds of “centers” for spiritual living.
We are dedicated to diversity, inclusivity, transparency and good stewardship in the community and of the planet. We continue to grow as a strong and vibrant spiritual community and are an affiliated member of the Centers for Spiritual Living, one of several organizations that are part of the New Thought Movement. The New Thought tradition dates to the 1880s and has its roots in the Transcendentalist Movement of the 1830s. New Thought has a long and respected history, and includes luminaries such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Walt Whitman, Phineas Quimby, and Emma Curtis Hopkins. Some of the better-known authors today whose writings parallel our teaching are Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle (author of A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose), Michael Beckwith, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Caroline Myss, Byron Katie, and many others.
Our teachings incorporate the ancient wisdom of all the spiritual traditions through the ages. People of all spiritual paths – Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Islam, New Age and others – are all welcome in our communities.
Who is CSL Tulsa for?
CSL Tulsa is for the individual or family:
- That wants to know more about the heart and soul connection to their Creator, or God that is always present.
- That longs for Spiritual Principles that teach us that the Universe is always supporting us and how and why that works.
- That is eager to learn how powerful our thoughts and feelings are in creating the life we have now, and how we can make it better.
- That is ready to learn the Law of Cause and Effect.
- That is looking for effective spiritual practices that fit into everyday life and make a difference.
What We Believe – Our Guiding Principles
At Center for Spiritual Living Tulsa, we believe that the Universe is fundamentally spiritual, and that it has intelligence, purpose, beauty and order. Our beliefs are in harmony with the basic tenets of all the world’s great religions and for that reason we honor all paths to God. Whether we call it God, Spirit, Energy, or Universal Intelligence, every person, place and thing emanates from this spiritual universe. We believe this Universal Intelligence is within us, as well as around us, and that we are conscious of it.
We believe that God is a loving intelligence, operating in and through all life, never separate from anyone or anything. Through classes, study, and spiritual practice we come to understand our oneness with this indwelling Divine Presence. We teach and practice a way of life where we can all learn how to live in accordance with spiritual principles. These principles, which we call the Science of Mind are as reliable as the laws of physical science. We believe there is a body of knowledge about spiritual laws that operates in the Universe as Cause and Effect. We teach that “It is done unto you as you believe” and “As you think, so you become.” In essence, our thinking and our expectations create our reality. It is in studying and applying spiritual laws that we can change our unconscious beliefs and create improved conditions in our lives.
Each spiritual community within Centers for Spiritual Living teaches Affirmative Prayer and other spiritual tools designed to help us lead a spiritual life, think positively, and love deeply. Simply put, at Center for Spiritual Living, we provide spiritual tools to transform our personal lives and make the world a better place.
Our 11 Core Beliefs from our founder Rev. Dr. Ernest Holmes*
WE BELIEVE in God, the Living Spirit Almighty; one, indestructible, absolute and self-existent Cause. This One manifests Itself in and through all creation, but is not absorbed by Its creation. The manifest universe is the body of God; it is the logical and necessary outcome of the infinite self-knowingness of God.
WE BELIEVE in the individualization of the Spirit in us, and that all people are individualizations of the One Spirit.
WE BELIEVE in the eternality, the immortality and the continuity of the individual soul, forever and ever expanding.
WE BELIEVE that heaven is within us, and that we experience it to the degree that we become conscious of it.
WE BELIEVE the ultimate goal of life to be a complete freedom from all discord of every nature, and that this goal is sure to be attained by all.
WE BELIEVE in the unity of all life, and that the highest God and the innermost God is one God. We believe that God is personal to all who feel this indwelling presence
WE BELIEVE in the direct revelation of truth through our intuitive and spiritual nature, and that anyone may become a revealer of truth who lives in close contact with the indwelling God.
WE BELIEVE that the Universal Spirit, which is God, operates through a Universal Mind, which is the Law of God; and that we are surrounded by this Creative Mind which receives the direct impress of our thought and acts upon it.
WE BELIEVE in the healing of the sick and control of conditions through the power of this Mind.
WE BELIEVE in the eternal Goodness, the eternal Loving-kindness and the eternal Givingness of Life to All.
WE BELIEVE in our own soul, our own spirit and our own destiny; for we understand that the life of all is God.
*Dr. Ernest Holmes’ (January 21, 1887 – April 7, 1960) book, The Science of Mind, is recognized today as one of the leading viewpoints in modern metaphysics and New Thought. Dr. Holmes developed a universal philosophy and tools for spiritual living that profoundly resonates to this day. His work provides us with a personal spiritual path, an understanding of our relationship with the Universe, and a highly conscious, connected and joyful approach to daily living. Dr. Holmes believed that we should not accept dogma of what other people tell us to believe, rather we should examine and determine our own beliefs

Our Global Vision
“A World That Works For Everyone” We envision all people, all beings, and all life as expressions of God.
We see a world in which every person lives in alignment with his/her highest spiritual principle, emphasizing unity with God and connection with each other; a world in which, individually and collectively, we are called to a higher state of consciousness and action.
We envision humanity awakening to its spiritual magnificence and discovering the creative power of thought. In this world, every person discovers his/her own personal power and ability to create an individual life that works within a world that works for everyone.
We envision a world in which we live and grow as One Global Family that respects and honors the interconnectedness of all life. In this world, this kinship with all life prospers and connects through the guidance of spiritual wisdom and experience.
We envision a world where personal responsibility joins with social conscience in every area of the political, corporate, academic, and social sectors, providing sustainable structures to further the emerging global consciousness.
We envision a world where each person has enough food, a home, and a sense of belonging; a world of peace and harmony, enfranchisement, and justice.
We envision a world in which resources are valued, cared for, and grown and where there is generous and continuous sharing of these resources.
We envision a worldwide culture in which forgiveness (whether for errors, injustices, or debts) is the norm.
We envision a world that has renewed its emphasis on beauty, nature, and love through the resurgence of creativity, art, and aesthetics.
We envision a world that works for everyone and for all of creation.
